Our unique matching process empowers mentees to be invested
We want to ensure mentees feel engaged with the mentorship experience from the very beginning. Therefore, we are putting the power to choose mentors in their hands!
How Is This Done?
When Primos was first created, we hosted focus groups with high school students to get their feedback. They let us know that it is important for them to be part of the matching process. They want to have a say in who their mentor will be and not just be assigned a mentor without providing input. We created the following process to work collaboratively with our Primos:
1) Mentors and mentees fill out various proprietary surveys and quizzes to help us get to know each person's personality, interests, and goals. Mentors also undergo an interview and create a short intro video about themselves.
2) Based on the data collected, our team manually screens and matches each mentee with three potential mentors. Students then get to learn about each of their three potential mentor matches. Once students have reviewed their matches, they select their top two mentor choices.
3) Mentors and mentees are informed of their matches and get to meet each other at our kickoff event.
We aim to make the best matches possible and that everyone is selected.
