Our unique matching process empowers mentees to be invested
We want to ensure mentees feel engaged with the mentorship experience from the beginning. Therefore, we are putting the power to choose mentors in their hands!
How Is This Done?
When creating Primos, we hosted focus groups with high school students to get their feedback. They let us know that it is essential for them to be part of the matching process. They want to have a say in who their mentor will be and not just be assigned a mentor without providing input. We created the following process to work collaboratively with our Primos students:
1) Mentors and mentees fill out proprietary surveys and quizzes to help us know each person's personality, interests, and goals. Mentors also undergo an interview and create a short intro video about themselves.
2) Our team manually screens and matches each mentee with three potential mentors based on the data collected. Students then get to learn about each of their three possible mentor matches. Once students have reviewed their matches, they rank and select their top two mentor choices.
3) Mentors and mentees are informed of their matches and meet each other at our kickoff event.
We aim to make the best matches possible and ensure everyone is selected.
