MentoringPrimos' mentees participate in a one-on-one yearlong mentoring relationship. Because relation and family are central to the Latino family experience, Primos builds a family foundation into its mentoring experience, inviting the family unit to become a part of the mentoring experience. Focusing on family-like relationships allows the students to thrive in many different environments, while also allowing the mentor to connect in a meaningful way. Primos currently serves 85 students in our mentoring program.

College and Career EducationPrimos also provides students and their families with college and career training. This training includes workshops, links to internships, college visits, and corporate site visits. Workshop topics include goal setting, networking, financial aid, preparing strong resumes, interview skills, LinkedIn development, and career exposure. Additionally, Primos provided hands-on experience for students by visiting college campuses and corporate offices.

Parent SupportA distinctive quality of Primos is the inclusion of parents in our programming. Parents must attend orientation, meet the mentors, and communicate any concerns they have with mentors. Parents are additionally invited to learn alongside their children at workshops, college trips, and corporate site visits.
